The lake is too high and the trail is too muddy. See you next month!

What to bring – Coggins for your horse, chair for you during breakfast.

We’ll be having a scavenger hunt trailride on Sunday afternoon, following a member’s meeting and pot-luck lunch. Bring a food for the pot-luck lunch and share it with your fellow members, as we get updates on the Corps Master Plan Update for Lavon Lake and discuss their impact on the trail. After the lunch and meeting, riders will head out to find the scavenger clues.

Thanks to several of our wonderful TTPA Volunteers, the Brockdale Trail North Section is OPEN FOR RIDING to the underpass!
The TTPA calendar shows February 20th as an organized ride but, it is actually an “Open Trail” day for all riders to come out and enjoy the day with your wonderful horses. There is no organized activity for the day. We hope you come out and bring your friends and enjoy the trails.

When – No special time, Saturday Feb 20, 2016
Where – Brockdale Park, you can ride North or South
What to bring – horse or hiking boots, riding/hiking partner, and you should always have a Coggins for your horse(s).

Gather round, one and all! With any luck, the weather will cooperate and the trail will dry out. We’ll be doing several things on this day – a Tack Sale, a Members Meeting, a fine chili and cornbread lunch, and a rideout afterwards, going south from Brockdale.

When – Saturday, Jan 30, 2016. Tack Sale starts at 10am, lunch at noon, Members Meeting at 1pm and a rideout afterwards.
Where – Brockdale Park trailhead
What to bring – tack equipment you’d like to sell (with a portion of the proceeds donated to TTPA), a chair to sit in for lunch and the meeting

Tack sale contact – Kathy Grossman – 972-743-2500, let her know if you’ll be bringing something
Members Meeting agenda – Election of members to the Board, trail status update
Cooks – Sharon Berryman and Tim Baney – 972-839-4375, let him know you’ll be coming so we can get a headcount for the food

With any luck, we’ll also have a qualified person in attendance to give a short lecture on saddle fitting and possibly pointers on fitting the saddle you just bought at the tack sale onto the horse you’ve brought for the rideout!

And the weather still isn’t cooperating – too windy and too cold for being out in the open at Brockdale, so we’re cancelling.

The weather hasn’t cooperated for our rides this year, so let’s try it again for our last TTPA ride this year. We’ll have a short members meeting, get updates on the trail activities, gather nominations for Board positions, have a lunch/dessert, and rideout. Bring a friend or two, and come prepared to renew your membership for 2016!

When – Saturday, November 21, 2015 at noon
Where – Brockdale Trailhead
What to bring – chair, bag lunch, and a potluck dessert, plus a horse if you want to ride afterwards

Meeting/lunch at noon, rideout follows at 1pm.
