TTPA Trail head Information

There are three main trail heads for accessing the Trinity Trail on Lavon Lake.

In addition, there is a trailhead built and maintained by the City of Lucas with parking near the trail, but it does require about a 1.1 mile ride/walk along a quiet country road to reach the actual trail.

There are several prominent landmarks along the Trinity Trail on Lavon Lake. From North to South, they are:

  • Giant Sycamore Loop Trail
  • East Winningkoff trail head access
  • Highland Park trail head
  • East Lucas Road Bridge
  • Brockdale Park trail head
  • Marina Gate
  • East Fork trail head

Footing On The Trail

Many horse owners ride their horses barefoot on the trail. The footing on Trinity Trail is primarily dirt and loam with culverts over wet crossings. The trail is not rocky, but there are short trail segments with some gravel. There is a concrete walkway under East Lucas Road north of Brockdale Park trail head, an asphalt crossing north of Highland Park trail head, and a short paved road segment along the road near the Collin Park marina between Brockdale and East Fork trail heads. Additionally, just south of Highland Park, the trail traverses the Lakeview Downs neighborhood on residential streets and easements between houses.
